Pros

Team. If it was not for the team I would not have survived.

Cons

LOW BASE/POOR MANAGEMENT/WHERE IS THE COMPANY GOING? Where to start...You think coming out of industry they would breed you into SHI bests but that wasn't the case. I had a horrible time adapting to IT. Being in sales for the majority of my career, the cold emails/calls were nothing. There is no help from management and when you ask for help from a fellow employee who are willing to help the manager will ask why are you asking? BC I DON'T KNOW AND I WANT TO BE KNOWLEDGEABLE OF MY PRODUCT TO SELL. Your'e in sales right??? INHERITED ACCOUNTS- you will get accounts from former AE s who RUINED THE ACCOUNT. Seriously, my office got a letter from the customer saying they don't want to do business with us and to leave them alone. FORMER REP RUINED THEIR EA AGREEMENT! ALSO READ- Try applying to vendors we work with to "advance" your career after SHI. The management at SHI has put a clause in saying vendors can not "cherry pick" SHI employees. Lord have mercy, and I will pray for whoever commits to this nightmare of a company.

Pros

SHI has an excellent training program, it definitely is the most impressive thing they have. The 4 week program is extremely well structured, and all of the mentors are extremely helpful. This is a good entry-level position out of college as long as you do not have high salary expectations. Aside from the salary (which isn’t good), they do have good benefits (I.e. 401K, healthcare, complimentary life insurance, gym). The dress code is very casual, so do not show up in a suit there is no need.

Cons

FIRST AND FOREMOST THE PAY IS HORRIBLE HERE. Read that sentence twice before anything else. I REPEAT - THE PAY IS NOT GOOD. There is a base salary plus commission. Commission is all based on the team you get placed on, and it is complete luck of the draw. Some teams do have high commissions, but do not expect to be placed on them. I am on a very busy team, and we do not have a second to breath because it gets so hectic. Our salary in no way reflects what we deserve to be paid and it is not fair. You will realize quickly that what the supposed job description is, is not what you will actually need to do - there is much more. Management is disconnected from everyone below them. They do not provide sufficient incentives to further help the Inside Account Managers. The company fills its pockets with billions of dollars a year and barely gives back to the average employee. In terms of career advancement, there are many internal job openings, but management is very unfair about when they will let you change positions. It is all according to what they need first. They will give you the run around and will leave you hanging waiting for that next position to come. Turnover for the IAM position is also very high and people quit regularly.

Thank you for posting your review. We are proud of our learning and development programs and are glad that you have benefitted from the training you received. Our compensation plan follows a standard sales structure: base salary plus commission. We do believe our pay is very competitive – for sales and support staff alike – and it’s a priority of ours to make sure every employee is fairly compensated and has access to generous HR benefits. There is so much opportunity at SHI that our sellers can earn a great living; those who bring their best attitude and put in their best effort tend to be the most successful, and are promoted if and when they are ready and an appropriate position opens up. When we fill internal positions and promote from within, we consider track record, attitude, and level of experience. It’s our responsibility to make sure that there is indeed a period of time when each seller spends time learning the business before being promoted. We wish you the best of luck with your future endeavors.

Pros

It's a sinking ship and it's crazy to see all of the big hitters in sales and engineering leaving. Jumping ship like crazy from Sr. leadership on down.

Cons

Don't be fooled by their "promotions". It's because they can't keep anyone so they promote children into management roles with little to no experience but market it as growth. It's not, they just can't find good people who want to come over, and if they do, they realize the mistake of coming over and leave as soon as they can. Also, SHI flatlined in 2023 making little to no profit. This is crazy because they have been having secretive layoffs of entire orgs throughout the company and even having to lay off new orgs and teams they built out because there is no direction and all of the leadership that actually knew what to do are no longer there. Internal initiatives are failing. They are also making it extremely hard to hit quota kickers. Don't be fooled by the marketing going on, it's just a few people way way wayyyyy to into themselves and posting about being happy because they are making all the money. It's become a joke of a place, and really is going down hill.
