Pros

- At Sentinel, you aren't pigeonholed in your role. If there is a project going on that you have an interest in, if you express your interest, there is always an opportunity to get involved. - There's a great work life balance. Sentinel cares about its employees and their well-being. We have a rich paid time off policy with the support of management to take advantage of it. One example is our sabbatical program for employees who have been here for 10 years or more to take a month off to recharge. - We have great perks throughout the year. Some examples: summer 1/2 days, casual Friday's, quarterly company lunches, off hour socials such as the summer boat cruise or holiday party where we can bring a guest, bring your dog to work day, paid volunteer days, etc.

Cons

- Given the nature of working in a 200 employee firm, there are smaller teams. If you're a member of a smaller team, career advancement is a little more tricky because there aren't a lot of positions available. However, with that being said, teams as a whole grow and evolve which means everyone's position on the smaller teams have the opportunity to elevate and advance together.

It depends on what you want from an employer.

Pros

Great, friendly people. Excellent customer service for clients. None better.

Cons

There is not a strong culture for action. Most things take a lot longer to do than they should. Internal communications are slow and frustrating. People are not held accountable for performance problems. There seems to be a lot of favoritism for a select group of employees, regardless of what they do.

One of our goals for 2017 and beyond is to make sure we are intentional and transparent with our communications to the company and our clients. We hope our new communication format will be helpful and less frustrating.
