Great place to learn and grow as a software engineer

Pros

Friendly and cohesive team, good organization in terms of how development work is prioritized. Strong desire to do things the right away even though some legacy applications exist. Work-life balance.

Cons

Salary was no longer competitive in the Boston metropolitan area after several years working at the company. They really need software engineering levels with salary bands as other companies have -- and to adjust the bands for inflation. I saw several team members depart in a short period of time.

Pros

Work from home. Most employees undermanaged-lots of autonomy. Good corp citizen type firm

Cons

Top down the culture was once fantastic but in recent years it has gone down hill and fast. They are trying to compete in a big job market based on having a nice culture. It only gets you so far. The pay is sub-market as are the bonuses. The management is very unorganized and politically controlled by a few folks who never worked anywhere else-and it shows. Small minds small ideas. The benefits too are ironically terrible compared to similar sized firms.

low pay, management doesn't seem to care about you as a person as long as you get the job done.
