Pros

Regular schedule, meaningful work, Compassionate coworkers, Connections to private providers and state case workers, channels to voice concerns above local leadership.

Cons

Low base pay, no raises. No retention efforts lead to high employee turn over. Going through available channels to air grievances often results in hearing the same responses repeatedly. Low pay is blamed on state reimbursement rates (which is legitimate) but no efforts are made to increase employee benefits in other areas.

Many great, hardworking team members. Opportunity for advancement

Cons

HRSC management is incapable of coaching, or supporting employees the way they should. The manager of the HRSC cares more about optics than accountability. Will not advocate for deserving employees, and clearly plays favorites with underperforming employees. Management has flagrant attendance issues. Corporate just got rid of the work from home policy, causing a lack of work-life balance.

Unethical Overall Business. Those at the very top are in it for the money, they make the 6 and 7 digits. The people who do the direct work are paid little to nothing and the benefits are poor.

It’s unfortunate that not all of our employees get a chance to know our leaders, but in an organization of our size that is just not possible. If all our employees had a chance to speak with our senior leaders or any of the field leadership, you would hear first-hand their passion for service, their commitment to our mission and to the individuals in our care. We advocate tirelessly for increased pay rates for those in direct care, and will continue that advocacy in hopes of addressing low wages throughout the Human Services field.
