I had no idea SimpliSafe was in Boston or that they were such a successful consumer products company. As I interviewed for this role, I kept thinking "how does no one know about what a great opportunity this is?" Lots of growth Good location downtown Great people and culture Communication and transparency from the top down - at all hands meetings, visible goals set every quarter that any one in the company can see, department updates, standups, approachable managers.

Lots of talented engineers across the entire spectrum (hardware, software, apps, RF, design, analytics) Culture of transparency and openness and desire to teach and learn and get ever better Modern technology stack Modern software development practices, thoughtful agile processes Great managers who mentor and have fun

Cons

There is a lot of work to do, which can be overwhelming when you start Onboarding was a little hard, I had to be pro-active to get setup There is a lot of growth and new people starting, which is good but means there are lot of people who can't answer your questions when you're starting!

Pros

There are a lot of opportunities for growth both professionally and personally. There are good benefits and bonuses.

Cons

Communication is a big problem. Management staff, HR and Training staff need some restructuring. Outdated hardware/software in the call center. The pay is not good for the nature and complexity of the work, if you are doing your job well and trying to serve your customers to the best of your ability. Informational resources are sorely lacking and often times inaccurate.
