Thank you for your review. I agree, IT can sometimes mean on call activity. We do what we can to prepare and prevent and always work to make sure hours spent after normal working hours are treating more than fairly. Thank you for your advice to keep focusing on our core values. We do hold them as our guideposts for how we choose to do business.

Pros

paid certifications, 401k matched and good PTO, process driven

Cons

The executive staff cares little about their employees, the CEO has announced plans openly in meetings and in the press about his plans to grow to a size where he can sell the company off. Processes are in place that work, unless you are an executive, then you don't need to follow any of them. Pay is far under what other techs in the country are making. Numbers are everything and nothing, once a goal is achieved there is a fault in the way it was collected and a new goal is set cutting into your time, be ready to work lots of overtime without overtime pay. Zero protection for abusive customers. No job security, when things get tough they just cut staff to make up the difference so there's a lot of turnover in staff. No moving expenses for employees who relocate.

Thank you for your review. There definitely are times that the hours can be long, although this is not the norm. We do find that some individuals will choose to work more than is asked and we watch for that as we know that individual will overdue it and become inefficient. We never require long hours. Its really all driven from making sure our customer's needs are taken care of. Sometimes that does mean working in off hours. We also encourage our team to help each other so nobody carries the burden more than another. We work to have each others back when that happens. Fortunately, it is not constant and we do make sure the employees time is respected and given back as well. As far as open acknowledgement that some day in the future we may sell the business.... this is true. As a company we have a transparent management philosophy. We share out revenue numbers, sales goals and the company's "big hair audacious goal" or BHAG will our entire team. Our philosophy is that we should all know the goals and work together to achieve them. As I always say in meetings or in press interviews, it is not a settled fact that we will sell the business, but at some point the owners will want to retire and pass along the business to the right individuals. Our current mode is to acquire other businesses not to sell ours. It will be that way for several years forward.

Thank you for your review. As a company that has grown in our sophistication and had to learn how to better manage our business, there was a time that reviews were not done consistently. This is a fair statement from a time in the past. I can proudly say that we have dedicated HR resources today and that reviews and bonuses are consistently done. This has been true for over 3 years now. In regards to no backbone with abusive clients. This is something I am concerned about on the occasions it happens. 2 years ago we began a process where we evaluate our customers as a management team. If a customer is not meeting our expectations or otherwise abusive with our team, we now have a practice of firing the customer. In fact in the last two years we have fired about 4 customers. All of which were because of the way they treated our team. I regret not learning that lesson sooner, but I do feel we have found the right path and do stand up to clients who are abusive.
