Pros

There used to be many but now it is the benefits and pay and the recent switch to PTO has afforded newer employees a little more time off.

Cons

So many changes due to corporate restructuring has diminished most all reasons for wanting to work there. Lack of flexibility, one can't get a schedule that works for their life. You cannot get time off even though you have earned the time off as there is no capacity per the schedule to take off. You can not get a week off. You can maybe get a few days mid week but that is about it. You work most all holidays. You go on a waiting list if your time off request is not approved and they can tell you the day before after you have gone home for the day that you have now been finally approved. How can anyone make vacation plans like that?

Worst company to work for!!!

Pros

worked here 12 years and I am ashamed to call them my employer. I can't wait till they push someone to their breaking point.

Cons

They expect 90% of the employees to work holidays, they do not take hardships into consideration. NO work/life balance at all. They are all about pushing numbers, writing people up and making people feel more like prisoners than equals. I have never had a problem, never in trouble, always been given kudos until this horrid CEO took over. Everyone is looking for jobs elsewhere, looking for attorneys due to the hostile work environment, and abandoning ship as fast as possible. State Farm USED TO appreciate their employees and it was the company to work for. Now? It's embarrassing to tell anyone you work for them.

Pros

Highly rated financially year after year. Job stability; various opportunities available if claims is not your thing. Easy to build a long-term career. Substantial benefits available to all employees..

Cons

Claims handling at State Farm has taken a backseat to strictly number crunching. They have lost the identity that made customers want to pay the extra premiums; no more personal touch. Customers have become numbers to them.
