Pros

Friendly coworkers, after-work events, casual dress code.

Cons

-Extremely high employee turnover, which leads to mistakes due to lack of communication during the transition of employees -Management does not provide the resources everyone needs to do their job - Some unreliable remote coworkers who prevent you from getting the job done -Extremely underpaid in many departments. Some employees barely make a living wage while others receive HEFTY bonuses monthly -No respect for current employees or the work they do for the company. Hold certain members of the same team to different standards. - Very little room, to advance in your career here unless you want to spend 4 years doing the same repetitive job for little pay.

Pros

The co-workers I met were an amazing group of people- of course, they all moved on at this point.

Cons

A process driven company without processes. My main responsibility was supposed to be strategic planning and production management. The position was really crisis management. Results were erratic at best, and, as the spokesperson for the company, it was often my job to be in the middle of the client and the steaming pile of poo Straight North delivered. The best way to do this, apparently, was to start getting creative with graphs- One of my co-workers would routinely swap most of the numbers so that it looked at first glance that the numbers were going up, not plummeting down. The artificial stress was amazing, as was the constant grind of people and clients coming in and going out.

Thank you for your review. I am sorry that you had a negative experience working at Straight North. As one of the fastest growing companies in a dynamic, changing marketplace we are sometimes forced to confront difficult employee decisions. Terminating an employee is never taken lightly, but we believe that one of the real benefits to our employees and our clients is that Straight North acts thoughtfully and decisively when there is not a good internal fit between our company and the employee. In addition, your post is simply factually inaccurate; our employee and client retention rates are excellent, and we are very proud of achieving such high metrics. Unfortunately, this often comes at the price of making difficult employment termination decisions. We wish you nothing but the best and hope that you find a better employment situation. Pros

Straight North offers an awesome work-life balance with flexible hours. The environment is very laid back, and the employees there are super friendly. The managers are really awesome and know their stuff. They are more than willing to help you learn and grow!

Cons

The biggest con to working here (especially if you're fresh out of college) is the low pay. While most entry-level position obviously pay low, the start pay here is extremely low. There is also not a lot of room for promotion, which is a bummer if you really like the company but feel you have outgrown your position. Lastly, the PTO/Sick days are rolled into one, so you have to use them wisely.
