Pros
-This is an amazing place to start a career and learn everything digital marketing -Very flexible. Probably the most flexible job I have worked. As long as you were getting your work done, you had more freedom. -Management had an open door policy, help was always there if needed. Management in the Fort Mill office felt very welcoming. -Ongoing training and professional development outside of work. The Fort Mill office was constantly giving us opportunities for professional development whether it be webinars or seminars, which Straight North paid for. We went to Digital Summit in Charlotte 2 years while I worked here. -Laptops and other technology around the office were top of the line. -Friendly employees. Made a lot of friends in my time here that I still keep in touch with.
Cons
-High turnover in the technical positions. More work was put on employees than they could handle. The client count continued to grow during my time, however, employee count actually decreased. -A lot of head scratching decisions such as refusing to hire for needed positions or constant changes in processes- especially the client onboarding process -No incentives for my particular position and others around the company. Some positions within the company received a hefty quarterly commission, while others who did the grunt work or those who drove the campaign and produced the results did not. -The company began moving towards a quantity over quality approach. The custom campaigns that were created for each client, which Straight North prided itself on, began to disappear in the final year I worked here. -Not much culture for it being an agency. -Favoritism between positions.
