Flexible, but with low pay.

Pros

I am able to create my own schedule with students and have a reasonable amount of freedom to structure lessons as I see fit. My students are wonderful and working from home is pretty appealing. It's easy to work for PrepNow on top of a full-time job. Salaried positions with the corporate office are often given to qualified tutors, so there is opportunity for growth within the company. StudyPoint recognizes and praises good tutors, so you feel valued.

Cons

The pay is truly terrible. Most tutoring companies pay at least twice as much hourly for SAT tutoring. However, they don't have the option of working online from home and going to a student's home is higher impact work. That said, there is really just no reason to take this job if you have very high test scores and experience UNLESS you just really can't deal with the idea of leaving your house.

Pros

Flexibility of schedule is great. They also have a really great structure for evaluating and giving raises so potential for growth is endless. Program managers provide really good support system.

Cons

There can be highs and lows in the number of students available at any given time, so it's not a full time job, but it's a great supplemental income.

Pros

Scheduling can be very flexible; heavy demand periods tend to coincide with school breaks so this can be a very attractive job for someone trying to fill in around a teaching schedule. No one is going to get rich tutoring but pay quickly becomes comparable (on a per-hour basis) to teaching as an adjunct at area colleges.

Cons

The key to a successful tutoring at StudyPoint is to have a good territory. If there aren't enough students in your area, you're not going to work much.
