Corrupt

Pros

You will be an employee owner! (But see cons)

Cons

Please Google Symbria ESOP lawsuit. This company is corrupt from the top down. Corporate employees such as HR and IT start with 2 weeks more of PTO than pharmacy employees. Corporate employees are capped at 30 days of PTO while pharmacy employees are capped at 20 days. In addition, corporate employees are given more holidays off with pay. There are 20 year pharmacy employees with less PTO than recently hired corporate employees. SYMBRIA HR is there to protect SYMBRIA’s interests ONLY. HR and management will not view you as a human being. SYMBRIA only wants to employ emotionless robots that do not have children, do not get sick, do not complain about poor working conditions and inhumane schedules. Any complaint will be framed as “unprofessional”. I was actually told by the pharmacy manager that I was using being a single mother as an excuse for tardiness. She told me that there are a lot of single mothers that get to work on time so my complaint was not valid. She attempted to shame and belittle me for my difficult life situation instead of being a supportive, caring manager. And please note I was the highest rated pharmacist according to the last annual review. Management expected me to be at work and logged on to my computer by 7am. I explained that the earliest I could drop my daughter off at daycare was 6:30am. Therefore, I have 30 minutes to get my 18 month old baby settled through the doors of daycare and then into my desk at work. I begged for them to work with me, a 9 year employee by altering my schedule by 15-30 minutes but was denied. Pharmacist are fully capable of working from home when necessary. I asked if I could work from home 2 weeks prior to my due date since we had a few employees test positive for Covid. I was denied. I contracted Covid 5 days before delivering my baby which made for a terrible delivery experience. If you choose to work here, don’t even think about standing up for yourself or what is right. You will lose every time.

Thank you for sharing your concerns. Suits against employee-owned companies are not uncommon by certain law firms, and we are pleased to have been dismissed from the suit. The PTO policy is consistent across our business lines. Symbria supports employees with flexible schedules as much as possible, and, when an employee qualifies, with FMLA as well as personal leave. Clients and patients depend upon Symbria for daily filling and delivery of their medication, which means that most Pharmacy jobs cannot be done from home and timeliness is critically important. - Deb Bragg, Chief HR Officer
