Pros

Good benefits, paid CEU’s, flexible schedule

Cons

I was let go after 8 years of service, no explanations, always giving a 100% , never called in , working weekends. My only fault, I was making the top salary. They hired someone cheap 6 months prior to let me go and explained to me they were overstaffed. They laid me off over the teleconference call . Just a month prior to that I got an excellent review .

I'm sorry you had a difficult experience. Symbria has a well-documented performance improvement process, compliance program and reduction-in-force (RIF) process. When a client contract is lost or the client's census falls to the degree that they cannot support the existing therapy program, Symbria utilizes a thorough, documented RIF process that involves multiple levels of review and approval. The RIF process is always explained to employees. Unfortunately, in these situations, the need to reduce staff may come down to reviewing two strong performers. The evaluation and criteria is closely monitored and an individual's compensation is not considered in the criteria. Symbria never wants to downsize and the situations are always difficult. Thank you for your time and commitment to Symbria. We wish you the best going forward. - Deb Bragg, Chief HR Officer

Starting to feel like Select Rehab

Pros

Benefits are just okay. Low pay stay away.

Cons

New regional manager came in Chicago area and everything has just gotten real bad. Never ending push for concurrent and group therapy which is unethical and treatments that does not just benefit the patients. Started to roll out policies that just does not make sense like working on a weekend holiday and taking a day off during the week. New manager from Missouri just wants to make all the therapists’ lives worse while she sit and work from home. Lots of great therapists left because of poor management. This company really starts to feel like a select rehab wannabe. I won’t be surprised if they are bought out by select rehab. Same unethical people manning the management. Very sad.

Thank you for your feedback. Rotating weekends and holidays have been long-standing Symbria policies because our clients and patients require 7/day/week treatment. We are committed to consistency and fairness in the application of our policies and cannot exempt one location or individuals from meeting the requirements. Changes in government reimbursement and Medicare rules have moved all therapy companies to review treatment practices. Concurrent and group therapy is allowed under Medicare, and Medicare provided an updated final rule on the use of concurrent and group therapy, which Symbria follows, in 2019. Therapists follow a plan of care based on the written treatment plan from a physician or NPP. Symbria has a strong history of hiring highly skilled, caring therapists who provide outstanding treatment for patients and clients. Ethics, quality and compassion are embedded in the culture. - Deb Bragg, Chief HR Officer
