Pros

Lovely people, great culture, flexible working and a 9 day fortnight for most people. They really care about being a progressive and inclusive employer. Also dogs :)

Cons

It used to be a fast paced, exciting place to work, where I genuinely believed we were trying to "change the world of pet food for good". Sadly, this is no longer true. For almost a year now, it feels like progress has ground to a halt. The company seems to have lost their sense of direction and purpose, and we're just increasingly making short-term decisions that do nothing to improve the product or service. There is some restructuring happening which naturally creates inertia, but it has been too long now to just explain everything as down to this. I can see many people getting bored, switching off and just not putting as much into their work as before, which is such a shame.

Pros

50% on good quality dog food, they really care about dogs.

Cons

Extremely stressful targets, management is completely useless, low pay, no diversity at all which is very strange for a company based in London, employees often burned out with targets but they won’t talk about it they fear for their job due to the current employment situation in UK. No empathy at all with the current situation and what people might feel it’s all about productivity you’re so stressed about targets people work extra time or don’t take breaks during the day not even lunch break. I won’t recommend it to people with anxiety they will destroy your self confidence. No professionalism at all.

I’m very sorry to hear you feel this way. Giving our customers the best experience is very important but so is looking after our very talented team. I’d strongly encourage you to come and speak to either myself or your People Partner so that we can help support you. Let’s have a chat about your work situation to see how we can improve it based on your needs. Take care, Henrik Head of People

Pros

Flexible start and finish 9 day fortnight - but in honesty we work 9-6 daily and so this only really offsets the longer work days. Parental leave is 70% for 6 months. Medical insurance.

Cons

Culture has disappeared and there is no longer innovation and progressive thinking. Leadership is top heavy, disorganised and lacking vision. There have been cases of sexual harassment and misconduct as well as several maternity discrimination situations - especially during the last round of redundancies. There has become a "boys club" culture and no space for diversity of thought. Presenteeism. Inconsistent treatment (e.g. who can and can't be remote, how performance is measured and managed). Senior Leaders are not held accountable for switching priorities, cancelling projects and making poor decisions. Roles are not advertised openly and fairly.
