Pros
- Excellent team culture, focused on helping each other and reaching your goals. Having no promotions (excl partner), creates a flat structure (no hierarchy) and drives a really positive culture of openness and collaboration - as well as having a very strong set of employees with high IQ and EQ - Great social culture, with plenty on offer - Leadership are honest, open and extremely caring - they really take the time to see how you are, and what they can do to help you - not only at work but outside of work too - Transparency around what is going well, and what we need to improve on as a firm. The firm has been very open about our need for more diversity and has made a really big effort in the DE&I space - Consultants are empowered to drive change - whether that be on their project or inside the firm - they are trusted to make the right call and empowered accordingly - Working at Berkeley takes away the pigeon holing you get at other Consultancies. It can be more tricky - because you are constantly doing things you may not be used to - but it does provide you with a really good challenge and the Partners are on hand to 1) support you b) push you - The nature of our client jobs and longstanding relationships mean that you end up being really strongly embedded in client teams. It means that you build really strong client relationships, and are often seen as "one of their team", rather than an external Consultant working on a project - Good pay - No sales targets
Cons
- Can be tough not having a team around you, and consequentially fewer opportunities for people management - Lack of diversity across the Partner group - Miss having a bonus each year
