Pros

Cool job and met a lot of really cool people

Cons

Weirdly corporate... They wanted their part-time workers (mostly high school and college age) to memorize and recite their mission vision and values at the drop of a hat. Plus unpaid, after hours meetings. We definitely didn't get paid enough for all that.

Pros

- excellent customer service training - escape rooms are fun - ability to move - they have a knack of hiring mostly great people - great for a part time job in college or somewhere to work in the summer. - this location has lovely people working there. GM is a great person and will vouch for you. - 401k is good

Cons

- pay (17.5) as low level mgr - ALWAYS on call as mgr and not even making salary, not getting paid for anything you do not in the store. They expect you to solve work problems for people while you’re off. No work life balance. - a current team member died and the company did NOTHING to honor that man. The company was so concerned about saving their own butt that mgmt knew for days but couldn’t tell anyone and just had to show up pretending everything was fine. Completely heartless. - will let you move across the country with expectations of growth then when you get burnt out from working OT for weeks on end they punish you. Zero grace from ops mgmt. local Store managers are usually good. - no holiday pay? That’s insane actually (at least when I was there, would be shocked if that changed) - DO NOT make this you career, especially if you’re college educated. Go somewhere that you can use your degree and be compensated fairly.

Pros

Nothing.. the only good thing about this job is that it’s not hard labor and you rarely get rude customers as a game guide.

Cons

Management doesn’t respect your availability even if you’ve told them multiple times. I’m “part time” but get 35+ hours a week. They just want to you to work full time hours without the benefits. They’re also watching and hearing you 24/7 in the camera so, if you’re talking about something other than your game, they will say something immediately. They care more about the “guests” instead of their employees. It’s annoying, really. You will also have unstable scheduling and shifts that literally affect your sleep. They will make you close until 2am and the next day schedule you at 9am.
