Pros

Possible remote schedule. Good PTO

Cons

Reported to 4 different directors in the previous 12 months. Constant re-organization of staffing but no real changes to how business is done. Poor communication is a constant issue - from management to employees and across teams. Upper management is stretching staffing resources very thin so it takes months to replace an employee that leaves - you are left with the burden of their work. Working overtime is an expectation 6 months out of the year. They will never be properly staffed because of a broken staffing model and a refusal to see the writing on the wall. Employee moral is at an all time low. Company culture varies wildly by department and office. Survey results are not taken seriously and are given back to employees to find solutions to low scores. There is a lack of innovation at the Hartford - internal red tape keeps anyone from implementing an idea to fix problem. Decisions take too long to be made - a problem we have had for years. No longer a pay for performance environment. Career progression is a single track with limited opportunities and if you are in a remote/satellite office you are handicapped. Budget concerns are limiting employee reward and recognition.

Pros

Decent pay, 9-5 hours for those that want a steady schedule, nice offices.

Cons

Stressful, management is inept, training is lacking & leaves you unprepared for the demands, the workload is overwhelming and unfair (if your team member doesn't finish their work and you do, YOU have pick up their slack in the name of being "One Hartford"), no culture, you'e just a cog in the wheel of a massive company that only see dollar signs. Multiple employees in the Short Term Disability department went out of work on disability and mental health leaves due to the stress and exhaustion of the job, and mgmt did nothing about it. If you're a corporate, soulless drone, this is the place for you. Layoffs are also happening, so the company is likely beginning to tank due to the lack of leadership and total disregard for their employees, current or former.

Pros

Learned property/casualty insurance, 401k, health insurance, could purchase company stock, best co-workers. Other than this there really was not any other Pros.

Cons

Believe EVERY Negative review on this site. They are ALL TRUE. Any other "positive" review is staged.
