Pros

The people you sell to are very successful. You can make some good friends because of the shared trauma.

Cons

There’s absolutely no work life balance here. You’ll be expected to work constantly and have no outside life. Very much colt vibes as many of the managers and employees have a god complex and think this job is the end all be all. Many of the managers and “leaders” claim to care about you but these are very relative relationships. They care about you if you’re making them money and most can’t continue being friends with you after you leave because they look down on you like you’re less than. They also encourage you to “drink the kool aide”. Extremely stressful and bad communication inside the company making it hard to please the clients. Very heavy workload over all with no pay out. The pay is extremely sketchy even during my best sales months my paychecks were always less than I expected. I was considered one of the best new partners in my office and I only made about $30k. They prey on recent college graduates who don’t know better and believe the lies they tell them about being able to make lots of money immediately. It’s essentially a larger scale pyramid scheme. I’m embarrassed that I ever worked here. You’re expected to chase people in the streets for sales, it’s demeaning. There’s endless amounts of drama in the office. You will be talked about behind your back especially if you don’t make much money or even look different than your other coworkers. It’s sad really I watched lots of bullying take place from upper management. There’s very inappropriate behavior that goes on such as getting drunk and sleeping with multiple coworkers at national meetings. This job caused me a crazy amount of anger and anxiety. You’ll never make what you’re worth here. I promise you can go somewhere else and make more for way less work and more time for yourself. I looked around my office at the “successful” people there and realized there wasn’t one of them that I wanted to be like. They’re selfish, narcissistic, and greedy. Don’t waste your time.

Pros

You become really close with coworkers who also want to leave because you commiserate together. Nothing brings people together like a common problem or hardship.

Cons

-Working weekends -Creepy bosses -Low to absolutely no pay -Really rough work schedule... I’m talking 70-90 hour weeks -Clothing allowance is absolute crap - The company will make up something for you to owe them money for if you leave -As a female I was asked multiple times to meet with men who only wanted to be around me because I was “cute” and apparently that’s a really great way to get a contact for business -You have to “drink the cool aid” if you don’t want to be shunned -You basically never have a day off -My boss called me at 9/10/ and once 11 at night - You have to be gone on New Years and the Fourth of July every year for company meetings and it’s MANDATORY. Unless you are having a child (which is the only way I saw people getting to stay home) -Obsessive employee’s.... one of my coworkers was tracked down at her house because they thought she might not be sick so they went to her house to make sure she was actually there and wasn’t lying about her location.

Pros

Tom James Company is a great experience! I love working here and couldn’t see myself anywhere else. Our motto is, “We build people and people build the company.” I can definitely say that within this company- I have become a completely different person. I make the income I want to make. Travel whenever I want. Most importantly, I’ve built character, values and principles in myself and the people around me. All because of Tom James :)

Cons

I don’t have any cons!
