Torrid has one of the worst work cultures I have ever experienced. I have seen the CEO and President of the company yelling about the stupidity of her employees with her door open and to their faces. She has called people idiots, bad at their job, etc. This attitude trickles down to all levels of management. When you go to lunch with colleagues, the discussion isn’t about what exciting things you have planned for the weekend but rather who is worried that they are getting fired that day, who was insulted, who feels worthless and unappreciated, etc. during meetings, people talk over one another in a power play to see who can get the most credit for an idea. It is not a safe, collaborative vibe. HR will throw many parties but management is not happy if you actually attend. If you are sick, you better come to work anyway. A year after I quit, my entire former team is gone as well. I know people who took jobs that paid less and had a longer commute just so they could get away from this place. I personally quit without anything lined up because I would rather be unemployed than suffer any more time at headquarters. It really is a shame that the company doesn’t value their employees as much as they value their product.
