I went into this company thinking I had a fresh opportunity to be with a growing company that was on a fast track with a great purpose....to help women find great clothes for their size. That part is all true until you get to the behind the scenes grittiness which involves working long hours and expected to do the job of 15 people. With no realistic time frames or knowledge about what really goes on with the business. I can respect that the customer comes first and helping a woman find clothes that fit her and make her feel confident be the main focus. However in order to make a company run truly efficient you have to give time for things that will make her happy like actually being able to put product out in a way that is appealing to her. Giving realistic time frames and not piling work on top of work on someone, it's just not the way that you should treat your employees. An unhappy employee makes for poor customer service. On top of that you have to deal with the cattiness of a sorority like atmosphere where people are tarnishing each others names just so that they can come out ahead. I have come from places were a team atmosphere is a way of life and gets the job done across the board. I guess that's why that company is the biggest retailer in the world. You have to find a balance between getting things accomplished, helping the customer, and being a team and it not be about tearing each other down. And at a company that is based with a majority of women it's horrible to see this type of nonsense happen in a company. We have come along way as a minority not to act in such a way where it makes it unbearable to come to work or even want to progress in this company. Even before I started working here I heard the same thing that I'm telling you now, and I chose to think differently and believe you me I wish I had listened and stayed away from working with TORRID! Don't work here unless you like long hours, lack of communication, and total disrespect of each other. All MEAN GIRLS should apply because that's exactly who TORRID is hiring. CONS: Long hours, lack of support, lack of communication, back stabbing, bullying, manipulation, and total lack of caring .
