Pros

Has provided a great work life balance since the pandemic, allowing employees to work from home. My work life balance has been great due to this for the last 4-5 years. Past opportunities to move within the company were great. I’m happy in my current role so I have not looked outside my business line for other positions.

Cons

The bank is now pivoting their work from home to mandatory 3 days/week in office. For people who don’t have a mode of transportation, and having to now buy a car to come into the office, disrupt my life at home and pay extra for other necessities while I’m not home. The bank won’t pay for this. They won’t increase compensation for this either. I see how this move would be good for many business lines within the company, but not every business line is necessary to be in the office when the whole group is divided throughout the country. I feel their plan on this is a “soft-layoff”, people are not going to want to go back into the office and will then quit. They have made it clear they do not care if you leave, either. Super great, U.S. Bank. Great way to treat employees. Let’s hope they figure this out and reevaluate within a few months. If you were hired on your current role as home-based, it does not matter, they want you in the office for no apparent reason.

Pros

Unless you are a backslapping used car salesman who has no morals, I would advise you work for any other company. Shady!

Cons

Manipulates customers into "reviewing accounts" when they just want to do a simple transaction. Go into the branches these days, and waiting for you is a lobby salesperson waiting to get you seated with someone to scam you into bank products that the customer doesn't need. If your options are Uber, flipping burgers, or working at US Bank... make US Bank your last choice. If you decide to work here, don't say you weren't warned.

Pros

Good place to be if you're part of the LGBTQ+ community or if this is something you care about.

Cons

They like merging with other banks and although they've dine it many times, they fail to efficiently merge every single time and end up doing mass lay-offs. Recruiters are very incompetent regardless if you're an internal and current employee OR if you're an external candidate. They use outdated survey models. Stay away from any of the call center jobs no matter the department, they can and will prevent you from using your vacation time. In-store branch banking is career suicide. If you want to take advantage of any internal programs from language learning to certifications and tuition reimbursements, you're at the mercy of your direct manager and majority don't care about your growth or skills you wish to acquire.
