Pros

Enjoyable office environment compared to past office locations.

Cons

No structured training, employee reviews are not given in a routine fashion by upper management. If you're a part of the good old boy club or are related to someone who works here than it's easy sailing. Upper management baits you with advancement but never delivers.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. We genuinely appreciate your acknowledgment of the positive aspects of working at U.S. Engineering, such as competitive compensation, benefits, and the opportunity to learn about various industries. We take your concerns regarding diversity and inclusion extremely seriously. We understand the importance of creating an environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and included, regardless of their background, identity, or experiences. The points you've raised are critical for us to address as part of our ongoing commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace, where every team member feels like they belong. We acknowledge that there is always room for improvement and that building a truly inclusive culture is a continuous journey. To this end, we’ve been actively taking steps to enhance our diversity and inclusion initiatives. These include: 1. Reviewing Our Hiring and Career-mapping Practices: We are committed to ensuring our recruitment processes are equitable and inclusive, actively seeking to make our processes more transparent and to ensure our teams reflect the communities we serve. And we’re committed to being transparent about opportunities for advancement within our network of companies. 2. Education and Awareness: Atlas, our internal learning platform, features modules and courses team members can access on equity and inclusion. We hold all-team discussions on diversity, equity, and inclusion to raise awareness, challenge biases, and promote a culture of respect and understanding across all levels of our organization. And we created a website our team members can access to submit inquiries and to learn more about what our organization is doing to promote inclusivity. 3. Creating Inclusive Policies: We are reviewing our policies to ensure they support and promote diversity and inclusion, from career development opportunities to workplace accommodations and beyond. 4. Inclusion Council: We established an internal group of team members from different U.S. Engineering companies and regions. The Inclusion Council is a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary and multi-identity group of team members who will serve as advisors. This group will help foster an environment of respect and acceptance; build awareness and education around diversity issues; create a more collaborative, creative, and engaged workforce; identify and address unconscious bias and equity-related issues; and find ways for U.S. Engineering to provide a safe space to discuss diversity-related matters. 5. Listening and Learning: We are committed to creating more channels for open and honest dialogue about diversity and inclusion within our company, ensuring all voices are heard and valued. Some avenues our team members have for giving feedback about issues like these are our anonymous annual engagement survey, each answer to which is read in detail by U.S. Engineering leadership, companywide calls focusing on diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, smaller team discussions, and contacting the Inclusion Council. We understand that actions speak louder than words, and we are committed to continuing to make tangible changes. Once again, we appreciate your feedback, as it is invaluable in helping us to improve. We are dedicated to making our company a place where everyone, from any background, feels welcomed, valued, and empowered to succeed.

Pros

The company is growing, and the outlook is promising.... In the relationships that I have with people, I feel like they genuinely care about my well-being and strive to allow a good work/life balance. Work enjoyment is often directly related to your supervisor; while I can't speak for others, I really like my supervisor. I also don't know how many companies have a 529 match, but it's a pretty awesome benefit.

Cons

No company is perfect. There are some natural silos in the structure, which can have some benefits, but it also makes communication and broad team-building more difficult. The growth that is happening right now means there are new opportunities, but it also can put some strain on an organization as it scales up.

Dear team member - thank you for your review. I am happy that you feel so optimistic about the company's future, as do I. We certainly are in a period of growth, and need to stay laser-focused on communication throughout the organization to avoid the growing pains that can naturally occur. Also, I could not agree with you more about the positive influence that a caring manager can have on overall career satisfaction - for that reason, we are actively working on enhancing our leadership development programs. Regards -
