I'm still trying to figure out UniFirst

Pros

They kept us employed during the pandemic. Before the pandemic the place wasn't a bad place to work; low pressure, good commission plan and management like to cut loose late on a Friday. Not bad.

Cons

The office is a dump. Mouse droppings on your desk each morning. Toilets' that would leak all over your shoes when you flushed. It always smelled like mildew. During the pandemic, they put people on Performance Improvement Plans... they wanted us to sell more when every business we dealt with had no idea if they were going to stay in business. I was on the verge of being fired because I couldn't sell 5 year plans during a pandemic and an economic collapse.

Pros

The more you learn your route, the quicker your day becomes. You could be done in less than 8 hours with full time pay plus the commission once you get to know your customer.

Cons

At my branch in Newburgh, NY, the products that are ordered consistently will not come. Every day a customer needs A B and C. When the driver arrives at the customer every day without B and or C the customer gets pissed rightfully so because they are paying for it. The cost customer will ask to terminate the contract to which they will find out that that contract is binding and our high-powered lawyers will not lose against a small mom-and-pop business. It's a sticking process to be a part of which could be avoided if the products get delivered to the branch on time. It's just like why are we slaughtering these people when all they want is what they ordered.

Benefits were good and thats it.

Cons

Upper Management is extremely unprofessional and lack responsibility and accountability. Management only takes up for management even when they are out of line. They do not follow the proper process when it is time to terminate employees. Management lies, shares confidential information about its employees to their peers, It's like being in high school all over again. If your only there to do your work and go home you are on their radar. The office and Service department are like high school students always starting drama.
