Pros

Flexible work schedule. Car allowance and cellphone allowance. Depending on your cost of phone and car payments, but most if not should be covered in these allowances.

Cons

Getting sales will be tough if you are not a self-motivator and do not go into every door of every business. I had a great sales manager and he taught me to go into every door.

Pros

You get paid weekly and have weekends off.

Cons

Sales training is 13 weeks long. Very stressful, lots of PowerPoint presentations and constant role playing. All day phone blocks (appointment setting) with managers sitting in, critiquing you. Low pay, unrealistic expectations from management. You are selling 5 year contracts, which is tough. If the customer backs out, you have to pay back your commission. Health insurance is very expensive.

It always saddens us whenever any UniFirst Team Partners feels their experience in our organization is a negative one. Moving forward, we hope you’ve found a much better fit for yourself.

Pros

Intensive in-depth Sales Training that is nationally recognized and makes you be sought-after by recruiters. Fun-filled activites/events during the year. Lots of learning and personal/professional development due to industry verticals.

Cons

Pay was a HUGE con for me considering the workload and all it takes just to close/install an account. Just a heads up: for the first 5 weeks you are paid hourly with no holiday pay. The compensation plan sounds great--but it's not. You rely heavily on monthly commission and quarterly bonuses, but due to the lengthy sales process (you are working around 5-yr contracts) and different territories--you might have a harder time closing and won't see commission pay out until roughly 3+ months after getting ink on paper. This job is certainly not just for anyone, so there were 6 people who left/terminated during my time there. One recurring reason I heard for people leaving was MICROMANAGEMENT. My location sales manager is great, but it's a corporation and all locations have to follow a system so be prepared to be stuck all day in the office with meetings and 1-on-1 sit down with upper management...every single week.
