Pros

Wonderful interview and professionally handled.

Cons

Was told they would call and let me know if I got the job. Never received any communication whatsoever. Extremely disappointed. I expected much more from them, considering they expected as much from me.

Pros

Sadly, I cannot think of one redeeming quality. There were some employees who at least made things almost bearable. It’s a sad reality, but the cons are 100% true.

Cons

This company is simply corrupt. The administration is profiteering off of individuals in dire need of treatment and attention. Throughout my time at my UHS facility, we were DREADFULLY understaffed and HORRENDOUSLY overpopulated. While my unit had 20 beds, we oftentimes had 21-25 kids - some sleeping on the ground in rooms strictly prohibited for patients to sleep in. This was all done just to bring more money into the company. Some employees truly want to help the patient population, yet do not have the means or manpower to accomplish anything. A surprising number of employees try to find the easy way out - I had one peer who never actually conducted check ins with patients (who were suicidal/homicidal/etc.) and falsely filled in the paperwork. The culture at these facilities is horrible. I would venture to say that 10% of the patient population that come in and out of these facilities for treatment positively progress. 90% get much worse. This is entirely due to a greedy administration, poor employees, and a culture NOT dedicated to treatment, but to ease and profit. DO NOT APPLY if you want to help people, be part of a team, or make some decent money. None of these things will be granted to you. Mental Health Technicians are the MOST important part of these facilities and are not compensated for fairly whatsoever. Expect to be put in dangerous situation. Expect no help. Expect to see no progression in patients. Expect to be in the business of damage control and not in the business of helping people grow to be better versions of themselves.

Pros

Support, care, helping people. If there was a major problem management would always com in, even at 1 in the morning.

Cons

Burnout. Not enough people stay around but you gotta know what your getting into. It’s mental health and it hard work but at the end of the day it’s rewarding. You gotta wanna do it. I loved it there
