Pros

The company overall is strong financially. They have a lot of ideas and are trying to grow

Cons

The job is bad. Worst customer service job I have been in. The callers give you a beating. There isn't much place to go in your career once youre in customer service. The company doesnt care about you as a person and they slowly keep taking things away from employees and raising health insurance costs.

Pros

Inexpensive health benefits. That is about the only good thing I can think of off the top of my head.

Cons

There's a reason VSP hasn't made fortune's "Best Companies to Work for" list since 2008. VSP use to be a great company to work for, but now they're your typical, greedy, corporation that walks all over their employees. They use to care about their employees and it showed, but now they're all about poorly thought out changes, sloppy transitions, and POLITICS. I miss the way it use to be.

Pros

The 5% 401(k) match, use to be 15%. Good marketing dept and customer service dept.

Cons

Old fashion company that never grew out of the 80's. Antiquated systems that prevent employees from being innovative. HR department inconsistent and can't seem to get employees checks correct. Strong innovative leadership is lacking, decisions are made by hallway conversations rather than by a logical process. If the healthcare reform act goes into effect in 2014 with the exchanges, vision is not included, where will VSP be? I left because it is too risky to stay and wait to see what happens.
