Pros

Its a job that pays your bills till you find a real job. Good transitional job.

Cons

Favoritism & incompetence galore, specially at senior management position at the Milford plant. The smart guys leave quickly but the rest of the folks have been there for more than 30 years not because of the love of the company but because they would not be able to find anything outside. People who are well educated are sidelined but the folks who make noise in meetings are celebrated. If you have a masters degree in any field this is not the place to be. Pay is on the low end of the market rate. Its a great place to work for, if you are switching from retail or restaurant industry to manufacturing & operations and can bs confidently. Once inside, its about networking & having lunch with the right people. Covid was a big business booster but now with it being on the backseat, no one can help them. You cant have a world class company with a below average workforce & senior leadership who pick their favorites. Of course you will be doing firefighting daily and will feel burnt out at the end of the day !

Pros

Decent benefits, salary, ability to learn, and people for the most part. My role has a very good work/life balance. Opportunities to get degrees.

Cons

Used to value their employees; becoming more corporate and bureaucratic than about the science. Mostly only wants to please stakeholders rather than give quality products to customers. Won't backfill roles and then redistributes that roles' responsibilities but does not compensate those employees. Only way to advance my career in the company is to leave the science and become more of a manager (I don't want that); too many managers here as is.

Pros

Autonomy was/is the best reason to be a field service engineer. Create your schedule based on your customer needs and balance that with company needs. Hopefully you will have a suitably staffed and managed district to work within. If not, then you may be micromanaged or everything becomes an emergency and you will not be able to set your own schedule.

Cons

Terrible upper management/ leadership. Fascist globalist CEO. You will be vaxxinated, even if you work a remote position and never step foot in a customer site or Waters office. Terrible ‘upgrades’ to CRM and other internal platforms. You will be dragged down by the weak links of your team and expected to carry water for them.

As we continue to evolve as an organization and our focus returns to growth and innovation, we recognize that some of these changes have been difficult to adjust to, especially for some of our long-term Waters Employees. We are committed to supporting our employees through this time of change and feel that we have the best leadership team in place to do so. - Wendy G.
