Pros

This was one of the few companies willing to take a chance and hire an inexperienced engineer fresh out of college at the time. I have gained valuable experience.

Cons

However, I would not recommend this company as a long term commitment since the upward mobility is limited. They didn't emphasize training nearly enough. The key to a successful company is training your employees. Also, pay and benefits are below average for the profession (except for healthcare, this company does have good healthcare benefits). They stopped matching 401k twice while I was employed there. Even then, it was only 50% of the first 4% of your salary (which is paltry compared to industry standards)

Pros

Good health benefits. Interesting projects, and you will feel like you're making a difference for the manufacturing workers.

Cons

Low opportunity for advancement. Favorites were played in promotion structure. Not a performance based promotion structure. Poor training. When my job responsibilities changed, I was not adequately trained in the new position. I expressed this multiple times, and yet when duties I didn't know I had were not done, it was my fault. Poor feedback structure. Yearly feedback is supposed to be sufficient when job responsibilities change.
