Pros

Bank hours provide decent work-life balance.

Cons

The manager at my branch was tyrannical and rude. Disliked by customers, but brought in good sales numbers. Only reason I could see her keeping that position. Technology was relatively old at my branch compared to newer branches or other banks, in general. Expected to meet unrealistic sales goals when the branch sees the same customers weekly and doesn’t tend to get new traffic through.

Pros

they offer benefits, career growth opportunities

Cons

When I first started with Webster the focus was on their customers, through the years they lost sight of customer service and their entire focus became sales, sales, sales. Employees are now fired if they don't meet their sales goals which are usually unattainable to begin with.

Pros

Benefits the month after your start date. They were good to the employees during COVID

Cons

The job is basically a telemarketer with teller transactions thrown in. There are monthly goals so it pits each employee against each other. You have to make 10 calls a day usually to the same people you called the week before to sell bank products as well as trying to sell products to each customer in front of you. The branch I was in was a clique & I was an outsider the entire 2 plus years I was there. Everyone had been with the company for years and knew the customers so There was no way I could make my numbers. You can’t move to another position if your sales numbers aren’t good. I couldn’t wait to get out of there
