Diversity is a joke and discrimination is real. Feel free to google how many discrimination claims and lawsuits Wellstar has for its treatment of minorities (both patients and employees). It's so bad that they are currently being investigated for systemic racism which shows how many complaints there have been and how severe the issue is. What is worse is leaderships unethical behavior regarding the known problem. Falsified or inaccurate data is deliberately submitted to achieve recognition as a Great Place to Work at the instruction of the CEO. Employees face sanctioned retaliation if they voice concerns about how they are being treated. They are black balled within the company and forced out. The problem is so bad that they recently had a mass resignation of minority leaders due to the mistreatment of minorities and unethical behavior by executives and senior leaders. Wellstar is a breeding ground for institutionalized racism, classism, colorism, nepotism, cronyism, and discrimination. Employees have no where to turn either. Typically, HR is the neutral department that helps resolve these issues. However, HR is only effective at the hospital-level. It is corporate HR that is the worst offender in the unethical and often illegal behavior. The compliance hotline is outsourced and unresponsive. The woman in legal is incompetent, ineffective, and abrasive which is probably why there are so many lawsuits against the company by ex-employees. There is a good ole boy culture of corruption and cronyism at Wellstar that anyone considering a job should know before working here.
