Pros

they overpay. but they are not good bosses.

Cons

They can't keep staff even though they overpay because the Corizon management are NOT good people. They are a joke. They get rid of good employees even when they are short on staff. What a joke.

Patient Care is Losing to Corporate Greed

Pros

Immediate coworkers, delivering healthcare to people that really need it. Casual Friday, can't think of anything else to fill the minimum word requirement.

Cons

Lack of accountability, new initiatives that fizzle quickly, highly paid executives totally out of touch with the business, going back to the way it was pre merger. Lay off's, restructuring without consideration to experienced staff. Health Care Support Team is wholly disorganized.

Thanks you for your feedback. Corizon Health values and appreciates its employees both in the Field and on the Health Care Support Team. Our new vision of Back to Basics was put in motion to address some of the points listed below including Core Processes. We feel the need to focus on the Core Processes to ensure all staff have the tools and knowledge necessary to provide quality care to our patients. We are continually evolving as a company, and although some changes are difficult, the overall goal is to be the industry leader in Correctional Healthcare. As noted in your feedback, many departments have gone through organizational changes, including IT which began their transformation almost 3 years ago. Today our IT department operates at a fraction of its original size, with significantly reduced turnover, while maintaining the same workload and commitment to our clients. Sincerely, Todd Myers Director of Customer Solutions Integration

Pros

A vast array of potential employment opportunities. Country-wide, from claims to legal to contracting, nursing, HSA, DON, HR recruiting, IT, Management...

Cons

After hire not considered for other roles even if skills show abilities for growth and training. Hard to cross over to another fields or departments.

I’m sorry to hear you’re feeling undervalued at present. I’m not sure what you’ve done so far, but would strongly suggest you set up some formal time with your supervisor, to develop a career path for you. Some managers are more proactive than others, in terms of opening this sort of dialogue. I’ve been fortunate here the last 10 years. My HR leaders have always asked what I want to do next, and have made sure I continue to grow professionally. If you don’t feel like you are getting the tools you need, to be successful in other areas, from your direct supervisor, you could also talk to their boss. I know that can be awkward at times. HR can help facilitate those sorts of conversations as well. In your office, I’d suggest you reach out to Linda Young or Kevin Richie for additional help. Corizon prides itself on promoting from within. It’s never too early to voice your goals and areas of interest beyond your current scope of responsibility. Sincerely, Courtney Penning Director of Talent Acquisition
