Pros

Working as a BDR at Zoom was both exciting and challenging. On the plus side, the product itself is fantastic—constantly improving and so well-known that it made outreach conversations easier. People already knew and trusted Zoom, which gave me a great starting point. The company really invests in its people, and I felt like I was always learning something new about sales, customer relations, and even how to handle tough objections. The supportive culture stood out too, my team was amazing, and my managers were always there when I needed advice or encouragement. Plus, the flexibility of working remotely was a huge perk, and Zoom’s tools made staying connected feel seamless ;)

Cons

That being said, the pressure to hit quotas could be intense. Sales targets were pretty high, and sometimes it felt like it was more about cranking out numbers than building quality relationships, which got stressful. The pace was fast, which kept things interesting, but there were moments when burnout felt real, especially when things were really busy. Career growth in sales felt a bit slow too. There were so many talented people that moving up the ladder was tough. The role also got a bit repetitive, with lots of outreach, follow-ups, and booking meetings. And while remote work gave me flexibility, the high expectations often led to longer hours than I anticipated, which could throw off the work-life balance. Overall, it was a great experience with some tough moments, but it really shaped my skills and understanding of the sales process.

We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed the supportive culture, fantastic product, and the opportunity to constantly learn and grow, especially with the flexibility of remote work. We understand your outlook about the intensity of sales quotas, how the fast pace lead to burnout for you at times, and the challenges of career progression you perceived within the sales department. Your feedback on creating clearer pathways for career growth and offering additional cross-departmental opportunities is valuable, and we’ll take this into account as we continue to support the professional development of our team members. Still an unclear future

Pros

Eric is a great leader, but the company grew too quickly during C-19. Even he admits that. No going back now.

Cons

Lots of areas for improvement. Too much re-orging, too much focus on sales and strategizing entirely around customer requests. Broken operational processes. Way too many meetings without objectives that could have been emails. Middle management that doesn't really listen to feedback from employees isn't empowered to fix problems.
