Pros

Leadership/CEO seems to genuinely care and want to constantly improve. Remote and hybrid work style is wonderful. Great healthcare benefits. Book reimbursement. Compensation is good but stagnant. Some very cool tech to learn and play with. Work/life balance is good.

Cons

Equity issues exacerbated by zero salary transparency, zero pay scale transparency, inaccurate job descriptions, workloads being increased after recent layoffs with no audit and correction of job roles, no paths for promotion, no annual cost of living adjustments, no HR support without going through your manager (so good luck if your manager is what you need HR support about), and no truly anonymous surveys. Leadership is very out of touch right now with what their employees want from a workplace and the internal communication has become tone-deaf. DEI has been drastically cut back the past year.

Pros

- loved the team we were working with - Eric Yuan was a fun and compassionate leader - Decent benefits

Cons

- New leaders that joined in a year ago really made the place feel toxic - Our segment hadn't hit a single quarter since we had new leadership. This may have something to do with the market or something with the new leadership (maybe just an sad coincidence) - alignment of the books was unfair for most and favorable for few. Several people provided feedback to management, but they always got the cold shoulder. They would always say to control what you can control. Many top performers were selling to out of segment (way out of segment) - right after they did layoffs, they were hiring for the similar positions - the last year was the worst for employee morale - they went from such a great culture to not so great - no transparency in promotions - no specific path to help people get promoted - the new management wanted everyone to go to a 'yes, I will do that' mentality

What happened to the Zoom culture of care?

Pros

Zoom offers a very competitive benefit package. My colleagues and direct supervisor were amazing people and always willing to help.

Cons

When I started at Zoom, I was welcomed into the “Culture of Care,” but I feel that the company has gotten away from the culture it was founded with. I was excited to hear about growth opportunities, but I quickly realized the culture didn’t allow for that. It then became evident that the company had grown too quickly, and as many tech companies are now dealing with, it had to deploy layoffs. Zoom is now a very layered organization that seems to change direction daily. I found that there were constantly new procedures being put in place, without any consultation with those they would impact the most. I am sorry to say that leadership has lost touch with the company. Final note, the HR representative who led the meeting to let me know I was being let go did not even bother to put her camera on. Evidence enough of what the culture is now.
