On August 1st, Avamere Living officially acquired a campus in Port Orchard, Washington, a beautiful community just south of Bremerton on the west side of the Puget Sound. Avamere Rehabilitation at Ridgemont is the new SNF facility, and right next door are The Villas at Ridgemont, a collection of independent senior apartments. Ridgemont Rehabilitation has a long history in the Port Orchard area, with great clinical and public sector relationships that we are so excited to welcome into the Avamere Living family. Adding a new facility requires an enormous amount of work, both before and after the official acquisition date. Administrator Heather Dartt and her team at Ridgemont have brought enthusiasm and a team-first approach to the countless meetings and emails that are required for a successful transition. We are so fortunate to have a leader like Heather joining our team, and we know that this partnership will benefit everyone in the Port Orchard area for years to come.
In Q1 of 2023, Roxanne Stennett was named Avamere’s first-ever female Chief Operating Officer. This comes after serving as the Vice President of Operations since 2021, following 3 years as one of two Regional Directors of Operations. In her role as COO, Roxy’s goal is to establish strong leaders in all Avamere facilities, focus on driving a strong company culture, and reinforce Avamere’s Core Values. “Being named COO is just a title change to me; I still see myself supporting the buildings to the best of my ability. But I am very humbled at the opportunity to serve our staff and residents in this capacity. I see great things on the horizon for Avamere and I’m excited to be part of it,” says Roxy. Longtime coworker and VP of Market Strategy, Maggie Hilty Katz, says, “I don’t know anyone as deserving of this title as Roxy. She is so dedicated to excellence in Operations, and exemplifies our core values as well as anyone in the company. I couldn’t be happier for her, or for Avamere.” In her free time, Roxy enjoys boating, camping, water sports, and paddle boarding with her two teenage daughters. She lives for the sun and warm weather, and also raises a rare breed of cat – she usually has a handful of kittens at home at any given time
