Meet Sharecare’s very own head of home health, Sherwin Sheik, who is a prime example of the passion and empathy shared among our leaders. After struggling to access high-quality in-home care for two loved ones as they navigated life-threatening conditions, Sherwin was inspired to found CareLinx more than 10 years ago. Fast forward to today, CareLinx by Sharecare has grown to a nationwide network of more than 450,000 tech-enabled, in-home care providers and is available as an exclusive, supplemental benefit program for more than 1.5 million Medicare Advantage members. On Sharecare’s blog, Sherwin recounts the personal journey that sparked the creation of CareLinx and why its integration into Sharecare stands to drive down high-cost episodic care and hospitalizations, ultimately empowering people to live longer and healthier lives.
During Mental Health Awareness Month, our ongoing conversation about mental well-being highlighted an important message: Everything we experience is human, and it’s just as human to feel sad or overwhelmed as it is to feel happy. Building on this message with important insights, Laura Klein, our head of life sciences, explains how Sharecare is supporting the effort to promote mental well-being in May and beyond.
Every year, U.S. News & World Report ranks the nation’s “Best Places to Live” using data from sources like Sharecare’s Community Well-being Index to quantify the quality of life and whether residents of each metro area are generally happy with their day-to-day lives. Our Index uniquely measures well-being and social determinants of health across populations and places, coalescing more than 600 proven health risk factors into a single measure. Our team of analysts captures data from individuals across 99.9% of U.S. counties to help nonprofits, government agencies, researchers, employers, healthcare providers and payers, and more understand the changing picture of health and well-being and the impact across our everyday lives. Think you’re in one of America’s best places to live? Check out this year’s recently released ranking, where Huntsville, Alabama, takes the number one place.
We're proud of our very own Steve Pruzinsky, an all-star member of our life sciences team for his recent feature as a "digital crusader" on the 2022 PM360 ELITE 100 list! According to Anna Stashower, CEO and publisher of PM360 Magazine, what distinguishes this year's winners are their efforts to improve areas of healthcare in need of critical changes; “That’s what makes them the most influential people our industry has to offer— their ability to push the industry forward to make healthcare better for all.” Join us in congratulating Steve and check out his profile online in PM360’s May 2022 issue.

Today, we announced the creation of a clinical advisory board for our company's home health arm, CareLinx by Sharecare. With 10 nurse leaders representing academia, government, the private sector, private practice, and the military, the board will advise our home health team on how to equip nurse caregivers with the right tools, resources, and community support to sustain rewarding careers in home health. As the nursing profession faces the potential of high turnover in the coming years, we look forward to attracting highly qualified talent to care for an aging population with increasingly complex care needs.

When we say, “We’re ‘all together better,’” we encompass a belief that improving health outcomes for all requires organizational stakeholders to inclusively engage individuals in their respective communities. When Blue Zones Project by Sharecare, our community well-being improvement initiative, first entered Fort Worth, Texas, in 2014, it ranked No. 185 out of 190 U.S. metro areas for individual well-being. By ensuring this diverse community’s collective needs were represented in our plan to transform well-being city-wide, Fort Worth later became one of America’s healthiest cities. In the latest blog post on Sharecare.com, Blue Zones Project team member Kimberly Porter explains how we did it and how other communities can achieve the same across diverse populations.
We’re doubly thrilled to have not one, but two features in PM360 Magazine’s March issue, which spotlight two creative executions from our team of life sciences marketers. Both campaigns featured our own digital innovations to make patient and caregivers education engaging and understandable. Our “virtual condition assistant” for multiple sclerosis is fronted by an avatar that guides people through resources that address their questions and needs, and our “digital immersion” into rheumatoid arthritis uses parallax scrolling, visually stunning medical animations, and condition management information to weave a powerful narrative about the condition and how it impacts life for patients. Check out the digital edition of PM360 for both the “Greatest Creators Showcase” and “Masterclass of Storytelling” to learn more about both.
