It's #NationalTruckDriverAppreciationWeek, the perfect time to celebrate and thank our fleet of talented drivers! For the past 100 years, they've quite literally moved The GIANT Company forward and made it possible for us to deliver on our purpose of connecting families for a better future. These devoted men and women go the extra mile daily, keeping our store shelves stocked and delivering orders directly to our customers' doors through GIANT Direct. In the video below, meet one of our most tenured drivers, Evin Brooks, and learn about the deep sense of pride and camaraderie that runs through our fleet of drivers – the makings of an incredible legacy. And if you see one of our drivers out on the open road, please join us in thanking them for their service to our stores, customers, and communities. #NTDAW23 #TGC100 #100YearsOfGIANT #LegacyOfPeople
Our 100th-anniversary celebrations continued this week as we presented a $25,000 check to Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region - Pennsylvania. The funds will help increase DE&I programs for individuals and communities who have been historically marginalized and underrepresented and support the nonprofit's inaugural 'Be You' DEI Youth Leadership Summit later this fall. At the presentation, BBBSCR Vice President of Programs Amanda Dunn shared, "We constantly seek to evolve our programs and resources in response to the needs of our youth and our communities. We are grateful for The GIANT Company's support. Because of this, we are able to enhance the DEI programming that we offer to better serve our families and our youth." #diversity #equity #inclusion #TGC100 #100YearsOfGIANT

Today's Meet a Team Member story has a 100th-anniversary feel as we shine a spotlight on Regional Director Dave L.. A part of The GIANT Company team since 1983, Dave has been growing through new opportunities since day one, holding a range of positions from courtesy clerk to regional vice president. In his current role, Dave oversees operations and team members at 18 GIANT and MARTIN'S stores in Pennsylvania and Maryland, ensuring every customer has an outstanding experience whenever and wherever they shop. Passionate about making a difference, he also serves on the Helping Harvest Food Bank board of directors in Reading, PA. In his 40 years with the company, there's not much Dave hasn't done or experienced, so it comes as no surprise that he has some of the best stories. He recently sat down with us to share a few of his favorite memories and speak about the company's legacy. Check out the video below and join us in thanking Dave for giving his all to his team, customers, and community in the comments! #TGC100 #100YearsOfGIANT #LegacyOfPeople
Our Summer 2023 Internship Program came to a close this week, and we celebrated their many achievements during a special graduation luncheon attended by their supervisors and our leadership team. This group made us so proud! They took advantage of every opportunity presented to them this summer and fully embraced each of our team promises: #BeYou, #GrowThroughNewOpportunities, and #MakeADifference. A special shout out to Kegan Pontius, recruitment specialist and intern alum, and the entire talent and culture team for coordinating this year's program. And to all of our team members who served as supervisors, thank you for helping to develop the future leaders of our industry by sharing your expertise, passion, and time. And finally, to our interns, congratulations and thank you for bringing your very best to The GIANT Company. We can't wait to see what you do next and hope to see you around our table again soon! #ForTodaysTable
We're proud of our longstanding relationship with Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. For over 20 years, we've worked together to connect families for a better future, so of course, CHOP had to be a part of our 100th-anniversary celebrations! As our vice president of marketing and commercial planning, Joanna Crishock, said during the press conference announcing our gift, "The GIANT Company first became involved with CHOP's Food Pharmacy Program in 2018 because the need was clear, and we knew we could help. Increasing access to healthy foods and promoting nutrition is a priority of ours every day, both in and outside our stores, as is reducing food insecurity. We're grateful for the opportunity to support the expansion of the Food Pharmacy in Norristown, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact this life-changing program will have on families." #makeadifference #eliminatinghunger #TGC100 #100YearsOfGIANT

Your kindness and enthusiasm remind us all that we have the power to change children's lives and make a difference!
Our merchandising team is rich in experience and knowledge, but as Alua Bekbossynova learned, the key to their success is the relationships they've built.
