It's Meet a Team Member Monday! Say hello to Christopher Reeves, our MARTIN'S store manager in Rising Sun, MD. Chris joined the company in 1997, and little did he know, this was just the beginning of a fulfilling career spanning 25 years -- and counting! Chris went from cashier to the service desk, checkout coach, and cash office before eventually earning a full-time position by going overnight as a stocker. Chris continued to grow through new opportunities, entering salaried management in 2001 as a customer operations manager and also held the roles of non-perishable manager and assistant store manager. He was promoted to store manager in 2011 and transferred to his current store in 2012. "My favorite part of my job is the people – the customers, the team members, my peers. The intimate, small-town feel of the store is so great. I have come to know so many people; I feel like the mayor just walking through the store and out in the community!" Chris said.

For every bucket of sugar cookies with red and yellow sprinkles sold in our stores through Sunday, in partnership with Aspire Bakeries, we'll donate $1 to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals!

Today, we welcome Ted Williams to The GIANT Company! A proven leader and collaborator, as director of non-foods merchandising, Ted will be responsible for health and personal care, seasonal, general merchandise, pet supplies, candy, and baby. A 30-year industry veteran, Ted previously worked in Ahold USA as a category management business consultant and with Giant Food as the director of retail pricing and the director of grocery category management. Since then, he has been fine-tuning his skills in non-foods with retailers like CVS, Pathmark, and Rite Aid. Most recently, he served as the chief operating officer at HLS-Higher Level Solutions, helping founder-led CPG companies develop their brand while launching into ecommerce and physical retail.

Just in time for Fourth of July gatherings, we spent the morning celebrating the grand opening of our newest GIANT, and what a celebration it was! In addition to our signature produce, meat, seafood, and bakery departments, there's also an incredible floral offering, a Beer & Wine eatery, a specialty cheese section, smoked meats, GIANT Direct, and so much more.
