At The GIANT Company, we love moms, especially the moms on our team. To the moms in our family and yours, Happy Mother's Day!
Please join us in congratulating Colin Snyder on his promotion to regional director! In his new role, Colin will oversee operations at 15 GIANT and MARTIN'S stores across western and central Pennsylvania, leading a talented team dedicated to connecting families for a better future. With over 40 years of experience, Colin has held a wide variety of positions in operations, most recently serving as center store manager. Over the years, he's also played a key role in several special projects to deliver a best-in-class customer and team member experience. Colin, we're grateful for the many contributions you've made to our company, team, customers, and communities over the years, and we know you'll continue to do so as you grow through this new opportunity. Keep up the great work!
At The GIANT Company, May is for moms! We know that moms make the world turn, and with Mother’s Day fast approaching, there’s no better time for us to let the moms in our lives know we see them and that we are so incredibly grateful for all that they do, which is a lot and nearly impossible to put into words. Or so we thought. Our talented brand experience team - full of moms, by the way - created a meaningful campaign that celebrates all types of moms all month with vignettes. The result was something as unique as the moms themselves. We’re so proud of this work and the team who brought it to life - watch the clip and let us know what you think!
During Asian Pacific American Heritage Month and throughout the year, we proudly celebrate the achievements, contributions, and cultures of the Asian and Pacific Islander communities who have enriched our history and are shaping the future.
We can't think of a better way to wrap up #NationalVolunteerMonth than by celebrating team member Hannah Gansbauer! An assistant manager of customer experience at the GIANT in Plymouth Meeting, PA, Hannah was recently spotlighted by the Greater Philadelphia Corporate Volunteer Council and Philadelphia Foundation for her engagement in the community and commitment to giving back. Read her full profile at https://lnkd.in/gJCVU_J8. Volunteering is a passion that's close to Hannah's heart. From preparing meals at the Caring for Friends kitchen to stuffing backpacks with school supplies at Please Touch Museum or sorting food and donating turkeys at Philabundance in advance of Thanksgiving, she is always quick to lend her time and talent to help those in need. Last year, Hannah completed an impressive 50 hours of volunteer service! Hannah, thank you for being an inspiration to us all and giving so much of yourself to connect families for a better future!
Today, we're releasing our first-ever impact report. In it, you'll see how our noble purpose of connecting families for a better future has come to life over the last year and the progress we've made in our efforts to make a difference and truly change the world. While we are excited about how far we've come, we know our work is not done. There are significant challenges facing our industry, the families we care for and serve, and our shared world. Still, we know that by working with our team members, customers, suppliers, and community partners, we can and will create a #BetterTomorrow for all. Learn more at https://lnkd.in/gQScGZfu.
Crafted in partnership with Neshaminy Creek Brewing Company in Croydon, PA, our newest beer collab, One GIANT Coast, is the best of both worlds! A West Coast Double IPA - big, resinous, and crisp with bright citrus fruit character - meets an East Coast Hazy with hints of strawberry, banana, and grapefruit. This bold beer pairs well with even bolder flavors. Try it with spicy meats and cheeses like pepper jack or habanero cheddar, hot capicola, and Calabrese salami. The heat balances with the bright, juicy citrus of the beer for the perfect combination. And just like all of our other exclusive beers, this beer gives back, with $1 from every four-pack sold going to the Bucks County Conservation District Clean Water Fund.
The future of food comes down to keeping soil, water, and farms healthy. That's our focus on #EarthDay and every day, and the reason why we partner with planet-friendly innovators like BrightFarms, who are helping to heal our planet and make a difference for families like yours.
In partnership with our friends at GreenPrint and the Arbor Day Foundation, we’re pledging to plant 50,000 trees this year as part of our efforts to heal our planet. On #EarthDay, our store teams will be handing out tree saplings. Can’t get to a store? No worries, you can still help us reach our goal! Scan the QR code below, pledge to protect the planet, and we’ll plant a tree in your name for each pledge submitted. Learn more at https://lnkd.in/g-RQRQqN.
As we celebrate #AutismAcceptanceMonth, we’re proud to share the story of one of our supplier partners, Popcorn for the People. We think you’ll agree that what started as a kernel of an idea turned into a popportunity! Steven Bier and his son, Samuel, who has Autism, started the popcorn company in 2015 to create meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with Autism and developmental disabilities after Samuel found it challenging to find fun and fulfilling work. The dynamic duo aims to combat the current 80% unemployment rate in the Autistic community with the training and hiring of adults with Autism to create, cook, package, and sell uniquely flavored gourmet popcorn. The decision to carry Popcorn for the People was an easy decision for The GIANT Company because it’s a snack that gives back. Every bag sold helps support meaningful employment for all. Deciding which of their 11 delicious flavors to try, well, that’s another story. Cookies and cream, white cheddar, dark chocolate espresso, and french toast - YUM!
