CEO is Great!

Pros

Fast growing company with lots of opportunity for growth. CEO seemed to try to create a fair, more egalitarian culture and didn't seem to be interested in the usual corporate politics that takes place in most companies. Flexible and very diverse environment.

Cons

Fast growing company where leadership seems to overlook the basics of incorporating solid, proper training. Everyone was so busy, things changed very often and most times with no warning. A few in leadership positions were condescending and could have been more encouraging instead of critical.

Pros

I sincerely love the product. I've been in Marketing for some time, and ActiveCampaign's platform is so intuitive and powerful. The company does a GREAT job hiring people that fit the culture, and we have a group of energetic, smart, kind employees. Flexible PTO, great work/life balance.

Cons

We're growing so fast that we need to move asap - our little office is a little too loud! (But this problem is currently being solved!)

Free reign, but with a cost

Pros

Developers are given basically free reign to accomplish their goals. There are no strict deadlines on work.

Cons

Everything is locked down and private, there's no trust between management and employees. It feels like there are no real senior developers. Everyone, regardless of how long they've been in the industry, thinks and acts like junior developers. Because of this, there's no strong technical leadership. There is little to no documentation on internal processes, and information is siloed almost as much as possible.

Thanks for the feedback. I would love to talk personally, and I am available at any time to discuss the points you've raised here. As a company, and a development team, we've grown really fast. We doubled the size of the team throughout all of 2016, and we're looking to do more so in 2017. I think one of the growing pains we've had is transparency -- making sure that everyone has access to all of the resources that they need; this is something that's really important to me, and that we are actively working on. I'm a little puzzled by your assessment of junior and senior developers. Our senior developers are frequently leaders of our teams and technical projects, and are people whose opinions I trust -- and need to trust, if the team is to continue growing. Again, I would welcome the chance to talk to you personally about your concerns!
