Pros

Great experience is forced upon you! Get to work with a wide variety of animals.

Cons

Poor management, and responsibilities demanded dont come anywhere near the compensation that is given. Poor resources and facilities lead to a dangerous work environment as well.

Outgrowing our "old facility" was a huge center stage problem. The atmosphere of the young talent was strongly driven by positive assurances which in hindsight was slightly set aside due to the move to a new facilities in June/2015. The overwhelming growth has been a joy to embrace and far too fast to assure the uncompromised maintenance of quality and cost. We were very happy to see the job market showing strong demand, not only for the talent we produce, but also that we were getting more contracts. Hence we were able to revisit the compensation ladder for entry level employees and put them on an accelerated pay raise schedule that meets their development goals and paves the way for their future success.

Pros

Some great people have come through the doors of BTS Research (formerly known as BioTox Sciences), but they leave just as quickly. The people are largely good, smart individuals stuck in a bad situation.

Cons

The pay is far lower than the average CRO, studies are conducted out of compliance due to the lack of a compliance department over the last eight years, and there is no training program for procedures, health and safety, or anything else for that matter. Training consists of reading through old SOPs and then signing off to say you understand the material. The SOP's they do have are irrelevant to the work they're doing and likely "borrowed" from another company. They have an absolutely head-spinning turnover rate and any attempts to improve processes or ideas presented are immediately shot down by management without any consideration. They have lost sponsors due to the large amount of dishonesty and lack of communication within the company. They also have spyware implanted on every computer so all of the employees' emails, even private messages sent between managers and their employees, are automatically forwarded to management. I cannot overstate the absurdity of the situation enough. If you hear from BTS, RUN in the other direction.

I have to say this is not true because BTS has one of the best Compliance groups I had the privilege to work with, coming from a quality background myself. I am not familiar with any software that BTS has to "spy" on their communications. We have not lost any sponsors as the person states. However we have had to repeat a few studies, which is normal from time to time in a CRO, especially that we hired a new middle management at that time and they were expanding the system from a small company mind frame to a mid size company. the person who put the post may have been confused that some sponsors Test Article is being tested to validate their efficacy. I am proud to work with the team we have built at BTS. They are the best the industry has to offer and the short timers or new talents should be more patient. Thank you
