Pros

There are no pros in this job except 5 weeks annual leave compared to 28 days required by law

Cons

If you want to be used as cheap labour this is the job for you. If you work hard show initiative, professionalism and an excellent work ethic you will be taken advantage of and will progress no further in the business. If you want to work full time hours on a part time contract with no expectations of your contracts hours, holiday supplement pay is crap I once received 21p yes 21p for holiday pay supplement when I work an average of 10 hours overtime every week

Pros

Would be rated No.1 as Worst Place to Work in the UK. Would be rated No.1 as Worst Healthcare Services Provider. Would be rated No.1 for Bullying in the Workplace.

Cons

No vision. Bullying. No people skills whatsoever. Complete lack of communication. Inconsistent approach with everything - people, processes and policies. Performance Management a joke. Customer care considered secondary. Management (whoops, sorry I mean 'Leaders'.........) haven't a clue what they're doing. I could go on but I now have a life after having left Boots!

Pros

-Great colleagues (non managers). -Discount card (I hate boots so much I go to superdrug though, its cheaper anyway)

Cons

-Never enough staff in pharmacy so we get yelled at by customers who need their prescriptions -Idiots who shouldn't be managers are, I've had new managers about every 6 months ranging from incompetent, cold, two-faced and uncaring to arrogant and rude. Current manager is nice but he is probably too nice to be a manager. -Incredibly unhappy but no one seems to care. -Pay always incorrect. -Slow systems that don't work. -Badly designed driver delivery service that does not work for anyone. -Was expected to do dispensary training in my own time. -Am expected to stay later than I am getting paid for to cash up, 20-30 minutes per evening over 5 days is quite a lot of money. -Area managers have unrealistic targets -When area managers are known to be visiting there is a big panic to make everything tidy which is unrealistic so the area managers don't really know what is going on. -Take on more work in care home services but then don't take on extra staff, so staff are pushed to their limit. -A computer works out how many hours are needed in the store, which is definitely wrong. -Uniform is white, stores are dirty so uniforms don't stay white for long. -No progression.
