Pros

As a seasoned customer service rep, I appreciate that the management in this organization does not micro-manage. They provide you the opportunity to do your work without having to be told what you need to do. Reps are more likely to perform at their best as long as this continues. Co-workers are very friendly and will do what they can to help you in any way, as will most of the supervisors. If you perform to best of your ability, at some point, it may be noticed, affording you the opportunity for advancement.

Cons

Nepotism is VERY alive here. Although you can advance, be sure to know who your competition is. There are MANY reps who have been promoted and not had to follow standard promotion rules because their mothers' are employees within the organization. The systems that reps have to use to view accounts seem to be stuck in the 80's. Way too many places to go within the system to find information, which can create longer talk time. I am also sad that there is no diversity in management. Within the customer service unit, there is one African American supervisor, which is a bit disturbing that an organization such as this doesn't promote any type of diversity. There are also not many males in the department either. This seems sexist.

Pros

A paycheck every two weeks.

Cons

This is one of the most toxic work places I have ever witnessed. There is NO such thing as diversity and it is a culture where most people are put into positions that they are no way qualified to do!! This company supports and encourages employees being insubordinate and unable to perform the job they are in. Most of the managers and director have no clue on how to manage or the processes they are over. Every process created in this company is convoluted and makes your job harder!!! The culture and people are by far the worst. Don’t believe that spill about them being the Best place to work in 5-6 years, THEY ARE NOT!!!! Retaliation is very much alive and acceptable in this organization and you can’t talk to HR because they cannot be trusted….good ole boy syndrome. There is one HR Business partner that is very unethical and has the reputation of not being trustworthy!! If you are someone who don’t care about your performance and seeks to be difficult to work with, and lazy, then you would fit right in!! If you are a competent individual and want to work your butt off and be stressed EVERY day, then be a fool and work for this organization!! Capital Blue Cross is a disgrace to the Blue Cross/Blue Shield Foundation and their doors should be closed forever!!!

Pros

Nothing, absolutely nothing. The job was terrible

Cons

If you like getting treated like a prisoner, & enjoy working with a bunch of low class managers who do nothing but breathe down your neck and just make you feel uncomfortable and everything you do is wrong this is the perfect job for you !
