Pros

Outstanding company in general, with great benefits that are close to unmatched

Cons

If you are interested in growth opportunities, be wary of working at Crowley locations that have a smaller operation. The most direct way to advance would be to relocate to the corporate location in Jacksonville, FL. Otherwise, opportunities may not come for several years. Also tends to be a culture of "who you know" in order to gain true advancement

Thank you for your feedback and for your years of service to Crowley. Leadership skills are very important to us and we are committed to growing and developing the current and future leaders of our organization. We have various programs and resource groups available to employees interested in building these skills. The Leadership Development program is a one-year intensive program designed to develop Crowley’s future leaders by partnering them with mentors (current leaders in the organization) and assigning them quarterly projects to grow their leadership skills and define their career path. All Crowley employees who meet the criteria are encouraged to apply. This year's participants include members from a wide range of Crowley locations and business units. The LADR Group (Leadership, Advancement and Development Resource Group) holds monthly meetings featuring topics that focus on leadership skills, growth and development, and initiatives taking place within the organization. This is an open group that is available to all Crowley employees regardless of their experience or location. While we realize there is still room to improve, we are committed to being inclusive of employees at all Crowley locations and building great leaders who drive the high performance of our organization

Pros

Benefits are affordable with a focus on healthy living

Cons

Crowley is a company based solely on perception and not substance. While Crowley continually bombards LinkedIn and other media/social outlets claiming to be a high performing/diverse company, it only takes a few clicks on the company website to see the 12 member Senior Leadership Team is comprised only of white men, where is the diversity? Also, the systems used are tired and antiquated, everything is kept on excel spreadsheets. Where is this high performance? The company has been sitting on the "brink of change" but never fully commits allowing employees to revert back to old methods and the high performers to leave. Their is a reason the front door is a revolving door -

Thank you for taking the time to provide us feedback. At Crowley, we are a diverse company with employees from Alaska to Central America and we truly value their differing perspectives. We continue to work on this through numerous initiatives like the flex work program, parental leave, and diversity and inclusion trainings. However, we acknowledge that Crowley, like most companies, has some work to do at the higher levels. We are continuing to advance and transform our organization by committing to improvements in our technology and processes. We've also implemented a Change Leadership department to help with facilitation and adaptation of these new projects. So, while we know we're not completely there yet, we are committed to creating a more contemporary culture focused on high performance.

Pros

Great Company that offer excellent employee benefits. Good shipping Services offered. Does not fire belligerent employees.

Cons

Too many layers of managers, organization needs structure. Most managers were promoted through the ranks and lack the necessary business acumen to make proper decisions. An outside consultant should be hired to reorganize the entire company. Morale among Workers is very low and complain that they have no life, work on weekends to keep up. Sales personnel are pulled in too many directions and don't have time to do "sales". Crowley is rated amongst customers to offer the worse service.
