Pros

Growing tech company in Dublin.

Cons

Everyone who’s been at Datadog for a while will tell you the same thing: the company has completely lost its startup energy and any sense of personal touch. It’s become bureaucratic, impersonal, and is currently run by the most dysfunctional HR team I’ve ever encountered. When I left, Datadog withheld a bonus payment that had been explicitly confirmed by my manager, team director, and HR before my departure. I was encouraged to continue pushing hard under the promise that my bonus would be paid based on the work already completed. Once I left, I was ignored for months - and then finally sent a screenshot of fine print in my contract stating that bonuses are only paid if you’re still employed at the time of disbursement (conveniently, this is always halfway through the following quarter). It was a calculated, bad-faith move to extract value until the very last moment, with no intention of holding up their end (or utter incompetence with no accountability). I’m genuinely disgusted by the experience - both the incompetence and the lack of integrity. Avoid if you can.

Pros

Good office perks like snacks and catered food. Modern office space with nice amenities. Most coworkers are great.

Cons

A newer CSM people manager in Denver exhibits extremely inappropriate behavior toward women, frequently making them uncomfortable by undressing them with his eyes. Leadership at the director level lacks accountability and awareness, allowing toxic behaviors to exist. Despite positive culture among peers, poor management decisions and lack of oversight create an uncomfortable work environment.

Pros

They offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, wellness programs, and catered office lunches three times a week (but no 401k). The company's innovative products also provide valuable experience in the tech industry.

Cons

Despite the strong benefits, the company does not cover parking expenses, leading to additional personal costs. In-office attendance is monitored via IP addresses, but there is no accessible method for employees to track their own in-office days. The workload is often overwhelming, with too many accounts assigned, leading to burnout. There is a perception of favoritism within leadership, which affects team morale and advancement opportunities. Compensation is considered low relative to the demanding workload. Additionally, promotions are challenging to obtain, and managerial support is lacking. Notably, after submitting a disability accommodation request, I was let go, raising concerns about the company's commitment to supporting employees with disabilities.
