Pros

Intelligent and nice co workers.

Cons

I’m not sure where to start....I feel like I’ve been in an abusive relationship with this company for years. I want to leave, but I’ve been so beat down and am scared to leave. This company used to be great. It was lead by ethical, kind, helpful, and successful leadership. We were the best in the industry. When we were acquired by private equity, the company began it’s ethical and corporate demise. The company stopped investing in internal tools, panel, and people. It’s been years now, with promises from leadership that fixes are on the way, but they never materialize. How many presentations can you sit through being promised that things will improve, and they never do? This has led to burnout on every level of the organization. I literally don’t know a single employee who loves this company. Leadership isn’t accountable or honest. The leadership is borderline sociopathic. They don’t care about employees, clients, or doing the right thing. The company has decided to get political during election years, sending inappropriate content to employees. The workplace should be a neutral place and somewhere where all people feel welcome. The company was also one of the first organizations to enact vaccine mandates. Pay is below industry standard, most employees who switch companies make 25-50% more. The company also strictly enforces non-competes any chance they get. So if you decide to work here, plan to fight a non-compete when you want to leave. This company thinks they own you. Your career, future career, body, and mind. I’m saddened to leave this review, I always hoped it would get better, but after years of abuse from this company with it only getting worse, I finally feel like I can leave an honest review. Please stay far away from this company. Also, don’t believe a single work HR says in their responses to employee reviews, it’s mostly garbage and lies.

First, thank you for your many years with us! We are sorry you have had such a negative experience with Dynata and our leadership that you feel abused – this is certainly not how we want any employee to feel, regardless of how long they have been with us. Both before and after the private equity company purchased Dynata, we have put our employees and customers first, and investing in and improving our systems and tools remains a top priority today. While leadership has evolved over the years, our core values remain intact, and company decisions, including vaccine requirements, are made in the best interest of the health and wellbeing of our clients, employees, and their families. As for politics, we maintain an inclusive and open-minded environment in all our offices, and realize that we have many differing opinions on a variety of issues. That’s what makes our company tick, and leads to some engaging and interesting conversations! Non-competes are very common across most industries including market research, and our contract is a fairly standard one. We also perform regular salary exercises to ensure our compensation is within market value and commensurate with experience, but again we are sorry that you feel differently. We hope things get better for you, and thank you for all of the feedback; we read all reviews and take your opinions seriously.

Pros

The team members! I had the privilege to work alongside a really great group of people (upper management excluded), who despite all the nonsense, made my time with the company as enjoyable as possible. Look through the previously left reviews, and you’ll notice that trend. My immediate team members were the only reason I stayed around for as long as I had, and I know for a fact that the majority of them were only staying around for the same reason also.

Cons

I’m not going to bother wasting my time reiterating all the cons that so many employees have already outlined. My advice to you as a job seeker would be to really do your homework, including reading through the reviews previously left. There is so much truth in them, and it speaks volumes that it’s TENURED EMPLOYEES who are leaving those critiques. Also, I urge you to not be fooled by the responses that the HR team at Dynata will come back with—it’s not just one or two employees who have left those responses, it’s many! If you really want to know what the work environment is like, I suggest directly reaching out to several former and current employees on LinkedIn to get their honest and candid feedback. Also, all of the negative comments left regarding the CEO are completely true (no matter how much the company would like to deny it). Do your homework and don’t be fooled!

Thank you for your many years with Dynata. The people we work with are our most valuable asset, and we hear it most often as the best thing about the company, so glad you agree. We’re sorry you feel what you have to say will fall on deaf ears – we carefully read and respond to every review, and take your feedback to heart and try to effect change. We agree that potential candidates should do their research before joining any company, and speaking to current and former employees is a great idea. We actually have quite a high percentage of former employees who return, because they find Dynata is such a great place to work! Thank you for the feedback.

Pros

• Beautiful “open concept” office • Covered parking (if you get there early enough) • Free drinks – including coffee and beer on tap • Team culture – open collaboration, open door policy, casual dress, and an occasional nerf war • Fair compensation + work/life balance

Cons

• Legacy tools are in a disparate state, and the new system tools aren’t much better. Talk about tens of millions of dollars wasted in new “products” that do not work!! • Due to poor sales and careless spending, training is not an option. Likewise, massive layoffs took place in 2016 • The Executive Leadership Team has no sense of reality and comes across as tyrants. If they want your opinion, they’ll give it to you. They surround themselves completely by “yes-men”.
