Pros

Focal is a very fast pace and personal feeling startup. There was never any shortage of project based work, which made each project intellectually challenging and rewarding. There was a lot of collaboration between all teams, including engineering, hardware, quality assurance etc, which led to unique perspectives and opportunities to learn new skills. Not to mention that the Focal staff is a lot of fun to work with; real good group of people!

Cons

Occasionally experienced some pretty long work weeks, but what startup isn't this way.

- No work life balance - Arrogant CEO and COO - Majority of the core team has left in the past year and the company is falling apart - no prospects of future funding so don’t bother joining

We are literally changing an industry. We have more business than we can manage (yeah - that's a good thing. For those of you who have ever been a part of a struggling business, you completely understand what I mean). We are on the bleeding edge of technology (also a good thing - for those of you who have ever been a part of a stagnant industry or slow-moving business, you completely understand).

Cons

Reinventing an industry is hard work. 'Nuf said.
