Lack of Training

Pros

The salary was decent, and my coworkers were good to me while I was there.

Cons

Management shifted schedules with no notice several times, and they provided almost no on the job training. They rely almost entirely on you self-training through online modules, and they will just toss you in on the first day not knowing which way is up and hope you figure it out.

Pros

Flexible - During the pre-tax set-up time I could work when I wanted as long as the offices were getting setup & connected. WFH - For helpdesk phone days it was all at the house on Co-provided equipment.

Cons

- During tax season it's mostly helpdesk phone work from tax preparer calls. Low to no training to support a pretty complex system. The tax software they use is buggy & clunky. Most issues end up escalated to tier2 after an hour of butting heads with the system. - Very picky standards for the trouble tickets we log. That's valid. But they need to have the same high standards for the developers. - Pay is NOT competitive for the level of expertise needed for the helpdesk work. On the low end for the desktop/network duties.
