If you work hard, you'll be rewarded with more work. Turn over is ridiculously high, resulting in the necessity of increasing the ever growing work loads. It doesn't matter how the cog moves within the machine, or how few cogs there are. The only focus is that the machine keeps moving, growing and consuming all in its path.
The culture is comprised of toxicity, rampant with nepotism and favoritism. "Cliques" and "gossip" summarize the corporation as a whole. If you're in, you may get assistance needed fulfilling job duties, goals, and advancement. If you're out, be prepared to be brushed aside.
It is difficult to determine who is trust worthy, even down to the reviews. Current employees do not often leave negative reviews for fear of retaliation. Positive reviews consist of: 1. Management trying to inundate with false and/or duplicate reviews, 2. New employees with no basis for their review, or lastly 3. Employees that are "drinking the Kool-Aid". Typically, these employees are clique members, have been recently promoted, or are in line for a promotion. This specific class can be distinguished by the "don't change a thing!", "keep on keeping on!" mentality.
Work responsibilities are frequently overshadowed with mandatory company wide meetings that are irrelevant to your position/department. Management is fixated on goal setting which yields no positive resolutions for many.
Interdepartmental cooperation is indirectly discouraged. It's an "us" vs. "them" environment.
Every quarter, expect to critique yourself, your direct reports, and your colleagues. Be prepared to receive these reviews of yourself in turn. The process of which is lengthy, essay format responses with multiple questions. Feedback received does not directly affect compensation or advancement. Adversely, it does not directly translate to demotion or termination. This assessment serves the sole purpose under the guise of self improvement.
