Pros

Free monthly treatment (limited) Some very good coworkers Opportunity to learn aesthetics with no experience

Cons

Nurses are double or triple booked at busy clinics. This isn’t only chaotic, it’s unsafe. A nurse should not be rushing through treatments, that’s how mistakes are made. I had zero work-life balance here. Work every weekend, no separate sick and PTO time, and it’s unlikely you’ll get your requested time off if you just say you’re unavailable so you don’t waste PTO. You’ll be expected to drive all over to different locations instead of having a dedicated store. Switching shifts is an option if you don’t like your schedule but half those switches don’t even get approved. You are expected to upsell your patients every treatment for little to no commission. Your training will be fast. I’ll admit the resources online and the Slack for questions helps, and that’s a positive thing. But you will have minimal training and be expected to hit the ground running, being double or even triple booked your first days. If you need help from someone in HR, nobody will reply to your emails for days or weeks. They make it difficult or impossible for you to get any help.

Pros

They will train you for free on injectables, laser hair removal, and facials along with discounts/free treatments for yourself

Cons

I started at LaserAway after working about 4 years as a bedside PCU RN. When I began, I loved the company. Over the year, it began to get progressively worse where making profits was prioritized over patient safety and the nurses well being. This job made me appreciate Unions and those work places that have a strong one. I was talked to and written up multiple times for trying to take a CA mandated paid 15 minute break, turning patients away due to safety concerns, not working fast enough when I always had 2-3 patients schedule at the same time, and being told not to document certain things to “prevent LaserAway from being sued” but not about offering any protection for the nurse. After watching too many patients with adverse events occur and having my concerns ignored, I left and went back to working in the hospital.

Pros

Loved all of my co workers, Work/life balance is good.

Cons

I was very excited when I got this job and was super motivated to make sales. Upon starting you have to do a two week zoom training which teaches you absolutely nothing about what you're doing and is a complete waste of time. My first day of work there was only one PCC there working and had been working everyday by herself for months. First red flag.... come to find out the previous front staff had all quit together. Low pay, and upper management does not care about you if you are not making your sales goals but does not give you any tools to help. The nurses are treated horribly by upper management wanting front desk to double/triple book the nurses for sales purposes. There is a frequent absence of nurses, leading to rescheduling unhappy patients and dealing with refund requests which further hurts your ability to meet your monthly sales goal. It is very unorganized and The Woodlands clinic has a super high turnover rate with employees. 10/10 do not recommend working here.
