Pros

free gym membership, stocked kitchen

Cons

All managers are micromanagers, do not care about strategy. Everything is driven by activity. There are two giant monitors in the middle of the sales floor displaying the team’s phone activity and the managers, including executives, just hover around the monitors and then go bug reps about having a low dial count. We had a rep that was bringing in big enterprise sized deals consistently and our sales director told him to focus more on smaller deals. He left the company a few weeks later for a much better opportunity. Management does zero coaching or strategizing. All they care about is how many dials you are making as a rep. Do not help find the right prospects nor do they help reps work on making quality calls. All of the “positive” reviews are fake in a disaster recovery effort to hide the negative reviews that have been coming up

Pros

There are some really great people working at MobileCause! Reps on the floor are very genuine, and most everyone is trying to do the best they can for the company - even if leadership and direction isn't always clear. Benefit package is nice, hours are pretty standard, and there is a fully stocked kitchen. Weekly 'fun friday's' often offer chances to 'win' additional 'Sean (name of the CEO) bucks' - which can be a nice incentive if that's what you're into.

Cons

I have no hard feelings for anyone at MobileCause, but the company isn't as advertised. 'MobileCause' is the executive team and board of directors - anyone below that level is not truly part of the company, they are the tools to increase the bottom line, and that is made clear in how they are treated. If you want to come in, turn your brain off, push buttons, apply 'pleasant' pressure sales tactics on non profits, go home and collect your check... you might be a great fit. If you are looking to be part of a company, to grow professionally, and feel valued - you likely won't be. While there, I routinely pitched ideas to an executive team member, was told I was wrong, to not think, to 'smile and dial' - and then would hear that executive pitch my idea to the whole company days later. The CEO has no sense of what rep work actually is, but walks the floor telling you what to do, often times while you're actually on a call. A micro-manager to the extreme. On more than one occasion directives and processes would change overnight, and then the executive team would scratch their head as to why numbers were being missed, ultimately deciding to blame reps and not their decision making process. Promises of promotions and growth were made but never realized, with only 'continue to do your job and we can talk again in 3-6 months' to show for it. This is a company full of old school executives, using old school methodology, and trying to thrive in a new school market.

Pros

No need to clock in. No one keeps an eye if you are at work for the whole day.

Cons

the worse at MobileCause. Communications from leadership about company strategy, direction, competitive landscape, recent wins and customer success stories, that used to happen on a weekly basis, have stopped completely. The sales staff have no idea what is going on at the company they work for. Inbound leads have been in decline for six months. Marketing is not targeted to well suited organizations. Most of the declining quantity of the leads that do come in are returning, recently disqualified contacts. Product demos are in decline. Sales funnels are drying up. Mid-level sales management have never done the job. Never booked an appointment, done a product demo or closed a piece of business with a non-profit. They have no decision-making authority and have nothing to do except push things up the chain of command. They micro manage KPIs like call counts and talk time and demand multiple daily sales forecast updates to fill up time. There is no coaching/mentoring and no training. Just constant questions about what is closing today Sales reps are often asked to offer to discount agreed on deals to bring them in early to help the manager and the company hit a monthly number. Leadership don’t care how this will reduce the individual’s commission check. Leadership at all levels play favorites. Rules of engagement on leads and opportunities are not applied equally. Favorites get special treatment. Inbound leads, opportunities and calls are not shared equally in the sales team. No Pay raises. No 401k match. No holiday party. No promotions from inside the company. You are just a cog in the machine.
