There is not a lot of room for real advancement. This company promotes heavily based on seniority, and this is evident in a lot of the higher level positions held by people whose primary experience is with Netscout. This isn't always a bad thing, they understand the customers and technology very well, but management styles and methods are outdated at best. You won't really have the opportunity to move up in the company unless you work from one of the base offices. If you are a remote employee (and there are a lot of them) get comfortable with your position.

The support work in Pune does not require CCNP or PMP but still expect such candidates to join their teams. The support profiles in premium team and primary support team are technical support profiles and do not need CCNP or PMP . Most of the guys in premium support team are all talk and have no knowledge at all. The HR is a mere rubber stamp and has no authority.Ruin your career technical support profiles if you join after having CCNP or PMP.Lickers grow in the company be in primary or premium support teams.There is no value for hardworking and dedicated people in the support team. No defined career path at all. The company wants to grow but there is no growth path for support employees. They can fire you at any time . They might ask to do weekend pager( Saturday and Sunday ) for which they don''t pay much and you cannot say no.Personnel life gets ruined. Candidates should request an office tour before confirming to the company so that you can talk to current employees one to one and then take an informed decision. Only CCNA and RHCE certification cost is reimbursed and not tuition fee. CCNP,ITIL,PMP certification cost is not reimbursed even though they expect such candidates to join them(preferred). All the guys working in the Pune support teams have not configured a switchport or vlan or ip address in their experience in this office in the last 5 years but still need CCNP !!!

The corporate office in MA was clueless. They had no understanding of the salary differential engineers in the Bay Area command. They're "hub cap chasers", with no long-term vision, as a product mgr once told me.

This is a benign dictatorship, no democracy here. You need to be able to live with senior management overriding your decisions. You will wear multiple hats.

The environment is not necessarily for the entrepreneurial at heart. Although input is accepted and encouraged, the company's entire direction comes strictly from the CEO. The CEO is very smart, and has done well with the company over its history, so things are bad, just don't expect to help drive vision.

Long work hours most of the time because of which its difficult to pursue other interests such as career advancement. Training or pursuing other career advancement almost non-existent.
